Why blog?

I read a post the other day that asked the “Why a new blog?  Why now?“, and in addition to me finally getting this site going, it got me thinking about the answer.

It’s a simple answer really.  An opportunity to engage in the conversation.  Some much of what happens online now is confined to 140 characters on Twitter and LinkedIn, and even 420 characters on Facebook.  While you can comment, reply or retweet, that doesn’t allow for a more in-depth exploration of a subject does it?  I wanted to break out of the walled garden and contribute more to the various conversations going on online.

There is no theme for this blog, so to speak.  It is just a collection of things that interested me or catch my attention.  That could be anything related to Christianity, the church, politics, business or technology and the internet.

I hope that you’ll stick around and contribute to the conversation.
